Northwest Airlines Worldperks
The Northwest Airlines WorldPerks program has four membership levels. The first level is the General level where there is no required annual activity and is open for all individuals. It does not have any membership fees and age limits either. The benefit that it offers is fairly limited to just having an opportunity to earn and redeem miles on Northwest and all Northwest partners.
The second membership is level is the Silver Elite. Its required annual activity ranges from 25,000 to 49,999 credited miles every calendar year. Its benefits offer:
- A 50% bonus on mileage on flights earned credited flights through Alaska Airlines, Northwest Airlines, Northwest Airlink, Continental Airlines, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, and other WorldPerks Partner Airlines
- Limitless confirmed first class upgrades on domestic flights on all Continental and Northwest Airlines to upgrade from any fare
- The benefit of priority check-in and having pre-boarding privileges on KLM, Northwest and Continental Airlines
- Elite Personal Privileges.
The third membership level is the Gold Elite level with a required annual activity of between 50,000 to 74,999 credited flight miles every calendar year. Its benefits include:
- A generous 100% mileage bonus on earned credited miles through Northwest Alirlink, KLM Dutch Royal Airlines, Northwest Airlines, continental Airlines, Alaska Airlines, and other WorldPerks partners
- Unlimited companion upgrades on domestic flights
- Priority in the Wait list for sold out flights
- An exclusive elite reservations line
- SkyTeam Elite Plus status
- Limitless first class upgrades from any fare on confirmed domestic flights
- Priority check-in and pre-boarding benefits on Northwest, Continental and KLM
- Elite Personal Privileges.
The highest level of WorldPerks membership is the Platinum Elite that has an annual activity requirement of 75,000 credited flights every year. Its benefits include:
- An unbeatable 125% mileage bonus on earned credited miles through Northwest Alirlink, KLM Dutch Royal Airlines, Northwest Airlines, continental Airlines, Alaska Airlines, and other WorldPerks partners
- Unlimited companion upgrades on domestic flights, exclusive elite reservations line, limitless first class upgrades on domestic flights upon confirmation
- Priority in the Wait list for sold out flights
- An exclusive elite reservations line
- SkyTeam Elite Plus status
- Limitless first class upgrades from any fare on confirmed domestic flights
- Priority check-in and pre-boarding benefits on Northwest, Continental and KLM
- Elite Personal Privileges.
These membership has no expiration and transferrable to any WorldPerks members with a limit of 50,000 miles every year and a transfer fee. Travel cards were also made available to give passengers quick access to this frequent flyer program overview.
After running for 23 years, Northwest Airlines WorldPerks were discontinued in October 2009 after its merger with Delta Air Lines and its loyal members were transitioned to Delta’s frequent flyer program which is SkyMiles.
